Illustrated Nature Talks
Nature in Focus
This lecture includes large & small animals, rodents, amphibians, reptiles, insects, flowers, fungi & other plants photographed in a variety of world-wide locations.
Nature on our Doorstep
A similar lecture in content to “Nature in Focus” but concentrating on species local to the UK and, more especially, the North Midlands.
Butterflies of the Peak District
An in-depth investigation of all the species occurring within the Peak District including habitat and life cycles for all families.
A World of Insects
The diversity of the world's most successful species is examined with examples from across three continents. A few spiders are included (not strictly insects) as well as some of the more interesting foreign butterflies.
Wild Orchids of Britain & Europe
An initial examination of how Orchids differ from other flowers is followed by an investigation of Orchid types with particular reference to all local species (some quite rare) as well as a selection of European species not occurring on mainland Britain.

An insight into the diversity of the uncommon and rare wild flowers growing within the Peak District. Particular reference is made to habitat requirement, location and flowering time.

A Portrait of the Peak District
A presentation that portrays and discusses different aspects of both the White and Dark Peak including diverse topography, mining, quarrying, customs, towns & villages and some of the more intersting flora/fauna.
Alpine Exposure
A study of the Alpine landscape and mountain villages as well as the associated flora & fauna. Areas include the Austrian Tyrol, Dolomites and French Alps.
Alp d'Huez—Natural Oasis
A comprehensive insight into the high level village of Alp d'Huez, surrounding landscape, mountains and gorges as well as the flora & fauna of this superbly photogenic and interesting corner o the French Alps.
Madeira – Island of Eternal Springtime
The all year round constant climate of this small island offers a wide range of opportunities for exploration; bananas and volcanic pools, wild flowers & waterfalls as well as the “indigenous” levadas all combine to produce an interesting lecture about the island that was one of the favourite haunts of Sir Winston Churchill.

Contrasting Continents
A comparison of the highly diverse environs of the African Continent (Gambia) and the American Continent (North West USA) illustrated by a wide variety of interesting, and sometimes unusal, images.

Photographic Composition
How we arrange the available elements in a photograph determines how well the image will be received by a wider audience. This lecture examines the various ways of composing photographs in order to produce the most appealing images – illustrated with prints & slides.
Photographing Insects and Other Small Animals
An investigation of the close-up techniques required to produce competent images of our smaller creatures; the lecture is illustrated with both prints and slides.
Photographic the Landscape
A look at the different techniques that can be employed to produce interesting and varied landscape photographs. This is a slide presentation encompassing local, UK and several foreign locations.
The Printed Image
A mixed collection of landscape, pictorial and nature images as well as a comparison between prints produced from old and new methods of printing.
